The MedsCheck program you're already owed.
Here's what a fully worked MedsCheck program is worth to a typical Ontario independent pharmacy — and what it takes from you to collect it: a patient list, system access, and a sign. We do everything else.
The opportunity, in numbers
New profit, from patients you already have.
An illustrative year for an average Ontario independent pharmacy running the full Rxperts program — MedsChecks plus the blister pack conversions those reviews produce.
How the pharmacy's share works
Your pharmacy keeps 40% of the MedsCheck revenue — about $8,800 a year on the model above — plus the full added profit from every patient converted to blister packs, roughly $60,000 a year. Together, that's on the order of $68,800 a year in new profit, from a program your team spends zero staff time running.
There is no upfront cost and no financial risk to the pharmacy: Rxperts is paid only from the new revenue the program generates. If the reviews don't happen, there's nothing to share.
How engagement works
- Start with an email. Tell us about your pharmacy; we'll confirm the fit and send a straightforward service agreement.
- Onboard. You provide your eligible patient list, remote access to your system, and in-store signage. We set up scheduling, documentation and quality processes.
- We run the program. Our pharmacists book and complete reviews — in-store, at home and in LTC — with full documentation, physician communication and follow-ups.
- You bill and keep your share. Your pharmacy bills the Ontario government for the services rendered and keeps its share of the new revenue, plus the blister pack profit the program creates.
What we ask of your pharmacy
- A list of eligible patients, so scheduling is efficient and billings are maximized
- Remote access to your pharmacy system and the patient information needed to carry out the reviews
- In-store signage encouraging patients to sign up, and a word from your team about the value of annual medication reviews
- Billing the Ontario government for the MedsCheck services rendered
That's the whole list. Everything else — scheduling, the reviews, documentation, follow-ups, physician faxes, audit-ready records — is ours.

We document every MedsCheck to Ontario College of Pharmacists standards and stand behind our work completely: we absorb the audit risk on the reviews we perform, including clawbacks arising from our documentation.
Questions from owners
Before you ask us.
What does it cost to start?
Nothing. There is no upfront cost to your pharmacy, no hiring and no new software to manage. Rxperts is paid only from the new revenue the program generates — you keep 40% of the MedsCheck revenue, plus the full profit from the blister pack patients the program converts.
Who carries the compliance and clawback risk?
We do. Every MedsCheck is documented to Ontario College of Pharmacists standards, with at least one recommendation on file, and records are maintained for future audits. Our guarantee means we absorb the audit risk on the work we perform — if a review we completed is clawed back over documentation, that's on us, not your store.
How is patient information protected?
Strictly, and in line with Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). All patient information obtained while providing MedsCheck services is kept confidential, access is limited to what's needed to perform the service, and those obligations are written into our agreement with your pharmacy.
What does my pharmacy have to provide?
Four things: a list of eligible patients, remote access to your system and patient information, in-store signage promoting the service, and billing the Ontario government for services rendered. We handle scheduling, the reviews, documentation, follow-ups and physician communication.
Who actually performs the MedsChecks?
Licensed Ontario pharmacists working with Rxperts — trained by us, and subject to our quality checks. They work under your pharmacy's banner, in your store, in patients' homes, or in long-term care homes.
Will this add work for my staff?
No — that's the point of the service. Beyond providing the patient list, access and signage, your team's day doesn't change. Scheduling eligible patients during everyday interactions helps, but the program is designed to run without your staff lifting it.
Your entitlement is sitting there.
Email us your pharmacy's name and location and we'll show you what a fully worked MedsCheck program could add to your year.
